Prof. Geng Yong’s research results were selected as the “Selected Outstanding Results of the National Natural Science Foundation of China funded projects”

Recently, the “Selected Outstanding Results of the National Natural Science Foundation of China Funded Projects (VI)” published by Science Press included 200 outstanding results during the 12th Five-Year Plan. “China needs to achieve sustainable development through circular economy and low carbon development to realize sustainable development” by Professor Geng Yong, Dean of the School of Environmental Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, was selected and introduced. The Selected Outstanding Results of the National Natural Science Foundation of China Funded Projects is selected by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) every five years from NSFC funded projects according to the application prospects and innovation, reflecting the outstanding achievements of basic research in each five-year plan of China. There are 107 supporting institutes and 200 achievements in this selection of excellent results. The selected results have either been published in top international academic journals, received national awards or international prizes during the 12th Five-Year Plan, or have potential significant impacts and contributions to national social and economic development. There are a total of six achievements contributed by Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The research results of Prof. Geng Yong belonged to one of the 15 achievements selected by the Department of Management Science and was the only achievement selected in this department contributed by Jiao Tong University. The results have been highly recognized by domestic and international peers.
